Yeslord.com! The Charismatic, Ecumenical, Christian Alleluia Community
Come and See

Websites like this provide only a very limited way of describing a truly awesome work of God. We give you the same invitation given to Andrew by Christ - "Come and See."

We invite you to walk around a Christian neighborhood filled with people who love Jesus Christ and who have dedicated their lives to His service. You will be able to listen to the happy shouts of children who grow up in playing in a backyard full of friends and without fences. And if you happen to stumble on a wrongdoing in the neighborhood, it won't take long before it is settled. The Alleluia family is "quick to forgive, and ask forgiveness." We seek to maintain committed, healthy relationships based upon the Love of Jesus Christ.

What Is Christian Community?

"I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." (John 10:10) Jesus Christ called Christians to live a full Christian life. Christian community is a place where people are lead by the Spirit of God to make loving, faithful and accountable commitments to other Christians. It is the place where service, love and care, in the name of Jesus, become a way of life. Many people experience community through their church or para-church organization (Cursillo, Emmaus, Promise Keepers, etc).

Who are you?

The Alleluia Community is located in Augusta, Ga.  Most of the members of the Alleluia Community live in Faith Village, a neighborhood in South Augusta.  It is not a requirement to live in this neighborhood, but most members enjoy the added benefit of being able to support each other in our daily life, in a real way.

Members who don’t live in Faith Village are clustered in other smaller neighborhoods around the area.  An important part of living community is sharing life with one another.  Living out our communal life has to be very practical.  Living close together as neighbors makes it easier to serve and support one another.

In addition to Faith Village, and several clusters of Alleluia Community in Augusta, there is also a small branch of the community is Louisiana.

Thankfulness For Our Back Door Living
Written by Janet Hatfield

Back door living has meant different things to me growing up. As a child, our back door on the farm was where you came and went with your farm boots on, so as not to get the rest of the house dirty. As I grew older, it was where friends would come and go without the dogs barking at the possibility of a stranger at the door. Still, as a college student, it was where I slipped in and out late at night without disturbing the sleeping members of my family. However, I believe that the back door living being referred to here does not require an actual back door, but a state of mind.

I am very thankful for our back door living mindset in Alleluia. In a world where neighbors are viewed more as an interruption than a blessing, and fences are erected to keep everybody in their own space, Alleluia strives to be an alternate society. Our Covenant states, “…He has destroyed our isolation and joined us together…” Thank you, Jesus, that we can live side by side and help each other grow in holiness. What an awesome mindset!

How do you live life that way?

Our Covenant calls this:” ...the way god has chosen for our sanctification”. This is a life-long quest of opening to God by opening ourselves to each other. We strive to lay down the masks that protected us in “the world” and to expose our woundedness so that we can be healed by the love of God we receive through our community family. By sharing our life with others, by daily “grass-roots” interactions, by being “…quick to forgive and to ask forgiveness”, by corporate prayer, private prayer, ministering prayer, by all this and more we are finally brought to a newness of life and we learn to trust God and man to be God and man.
